Passeport

A valid passport for at least 6 months after the date of arrival in Tanzania is required by the Tanzanian authorities.

Visa

A visa is required for all French citizens wishing to enter the Tanzanian soil.

The request must be made to the Tanzanian embassy in France (13 avenue Raymond Poincaré - 75116 Paris - Tel : 01 53 70 63 66)

However the traveller can also get it in a few border posts :

  • At airports : Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Zanzibar
  • In ports : Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and Kigoma

The Tanzanian embassy in France only issues ordinary visas. The "business" visas may be obtained when arriving in Tanzania with local authorities.
