Air Austral cares about the comfort of all passengers with special attention for infants.
A child under the age of two years is considered as an infant..

If you are traveling with an infant, our flight attendants are at your disposal to make your flight into a pleasant moment.

If a baby is older than 2 years during the journey, on the return a seat needs to be reserved for him. No charge will be applied.

The infant must be accompanied by one of his parents or an adult of 18years old. The adult should not be accompanying another infant.Infants should have valid documents such as passport or NI (family certificate for French territories only) in their name or they may appear on the passport of their parent(s). These documents must clearly prove the family ties with the accompanying parent.

Travel tips:

Foresee in your carry-on luggage all what your baby may need during the flight :

-  a teat, a lollipop or a baby’s bottle to make your baby swallow during takeoff and landing in order to stand the pressurization ;
-  his medicines, in case of treatment or if he feels airsick ;
-  baby’s bottles in sufficiency and his usual food ;
-  comfortable clothes of which a pullover if he is sensitive to the air conditionning ;
-  toiletries(nappies, cotton,...)
-  his favourite toys

Attention: traveling by air is not recommended within 7 days following the birth whether it is for the mother or the infant.
