COVID-19: Air Austral is committed to your safety
UPON ARRIVAL AT AIRPORTS
MASKS MUST BE WORN
It is compulsory to wear a mask upon arrival at the airport and until you arrive at your final destination. Each customer is required to wear a surgical mask throughout their trip. We recommend that you carry several masks with you for your personal comfort.
PASSENGER TEMPERATURE CHECKS BEFORE BOARDING
In order to ensure the highest health-safety level possible, and as additional preventive measure, we use contactless infrared thermometers check passengers’ body temperatures prior to all our flight departures. Passengers must have a temperature under 38°C to be allowed to travel. Those with temperatures over 38°C may not be allowed to board and will be able to reschedule their trip free of charge.
Before coming to the airport, we recommend that passengers contact their GP for a check-up and that they take their temperatures to ensure that they will be able to travel.
ENFORCED PHYSICAL DISTANCING AND HYGIENE MEASURES AT CHECK-IN
Signage and floor markings at the airport help to simplify compulsory physical distancing between passengers as of check-in. Plexiglass partitions have been placed on check-in counters to ensure maximum safety for our passengers and airport employees.
ONBOARD OUR AIRCRAFT!
IN-DEPTH CABIN CLEANING AND DISINFECTION PROGRAMME
Aircraft cabin cleaning procedures are a key focus at Air Austral and have been even more so over the past few weeks with a reinforced cabin cleaning programme. Right from the beginning of March, we set up a specific, comprehensive, and thorough cleaning and disinfection programme for all our aircraft, without exception, prior to departure. All surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and the cabins are sprayed with a certified disinfectant solution.
ADAPTED INFLIGHT SERVICE AND EMPLOYEE EQUIPMENT
We are doing our utmost to enable our passengers to travel serenely. All our employees have been called to action and are equipped to ensure that current hygiene measures are strictly applied. Flight crew on board each aircraft are equipped with protective equipment: vinyl gloves, protective masks and cleaning kits which include gloves and wipes.
Our inflight service has been reorganised in order to limit human contact and interaction as much as possible. Newspapers and inflight sales have been suspended. Sealed or wrapped products are served on our meticulously prepared meal trays. We remind our passengers that complying with distancing measures may not always be possible on board our flights and we ask them to wear a mask for the entire duration of the flight.
CABIN AIR RENEWED EVERY 3 MINUTES FOR AIR QUALITY IDENTICAL TO AIR IN OPERATING THEATRES
Our aircraft have been fitted with an air recycling system consisting of High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters identical to those used in operating theatres. The air in our cabins is, therefore, automatically renewed every 3 minutes. The filter system complies to health standards and traps 99.99% of viruses, including those of the coronavirus type.
We would like to highlight the importance of complying to these preventive health measures: they must be adhered to now more than ever. In light of this unparalleled crisis, we may have to further adjust these measures on a long-term basis and we remind our customers that our priority is to guarantee customer and employee health and safety
