Children above 4 and under 11 years of age, can enjoy our "Unaccompanied minor" service when travelling alone, provided they have no physical or mental disabilities.

At the airport
Before going to the airport, we invite you to complete the online : UM declaration form
Once checked-in, a pocket containing documents necessary for the journey and allowing to identify him will be given to your child.
A dedicated Air Austral agent will accompany the child to the aircraft. Then, our cabin crew will welcome him and stow his hand-baggage.
On arrival, an Air Austral agent will meet all unaccompanied children at the aircraft door and help them crossing the immigration before handing them over to their designated guardian..
If there is another airline included in the itinerary, we will take care of him until the next check-in. Then, the next designated airline will be in charge of the child.
Important information
On departure : before leaving the airport, please wait for confirmation of departure of the flight, by an air Austral agent.
On arrival : the designated person in charge of collecting the child will be required to show us formal photographic identification and sign the UM declaration form.
Travel documents
Child, french national, travelling on flights France <-> Reunion / Mayotte or Reunion <-> Mayotte
A child must have his own travel document : valid, at the minimum, for 6 months after the return flight.
Child, french national, travelling abroad
When he travels abroad, the child must have his own passport in effect.
Child, foreign national travelling outside the French territory
These documents are essential to the child abroad journeys if he is minor and does not possess the French nationality.
They allow the minor to prove his identity. These documents will allow him to travel abroad and to return on the French territory. Indeed, the child must have a document proving the regularity of his stay in France, which will allow him to return on the national territory.
